"The Mighty King Aazimar"

I awoke one morning at one of the fine Inns in Qeynos to a loud flapping sound and sudden thump. When I turned towards the noise, I found a carrier pigeon sitting on the windowsill with a note attached to its leg. As I unfolded and perused the note, I nearly fainted at what I read before me.

Dear Wyndforge,
I am King Aazimar of Clan Battlehammer, and I recently learned of your skill with paint and brush. I wish to invite you to my keep in Kaladim for a portrait of myself and my circle of trustees, to be displayed above my throne. Surely you are a busy man, but I trust you would not deny a royal request.

I grant thee seven days to prepare, by which an escort will arrive in Qeynos to aid you on your long journey.

May Brell Serilis guide your way,
King Aazimar of Clan Battlehammer

Ecstatic, I jumped for joy and ran about Qeynos like a child, counting down the days before I traveled to Kaladim, the city of dwarves that I had always dreamed to visit!

The weeks went by quickly, and when I finally reached Kaladim I was met by an entourage of stout paladins and maidens, and finally King Aazimar himself.

He was just as the legends spoke.

His face glowed with a spiritual grace, and his armor roared with divine energy. He was greatness in a physical form, and I knelt before him for today, I was blessed to be in his presence.

We eventually gathered for the portrait session, and the evening after it was completed, it was unveiled for all to see. We celebrated with fine foods and dwarven ale, singing and dancing until the evening's end.

With this portrait, I had truly reached a milestone in my career as an artist. And the best part about it is, to this day, Aazimar and I remain friends.

The Mighty King Aazimar
of Clan Battlehammer.
Leader of many,
Friend to all.
