s the sun's early rays stretched out across the lands of Norrath one morning, a low, deep rumble disturbed the peaceful silence.  Citizens awoke, some dismissing the tremors as a bad dream, but there were others who knew better...

Those who worship death and darkness took heed of the call.  Horns blazed aloud, ripping the quiet air all the way from the shadows of Nektulos to the furthest ends of Velious.  Their voices gurgled in triumphant unison,
"The King rides again!"

Thus was the call of Mangar Shadowkeeper, Keeper of the Shadows.

It is told in legends heard only in the darkest depths of Norrath, that long ago the dark-elf named Mangar grew to such immense power that he dared to challenge the Gods and Goddesses of light.  He was then given his own domain in the ethereal planes of darkness, where he remained for thousands of years.

The Crimson Rider, as he is sometimes called, has returned to Norrath to gather an army worthy of his leadership.  Those who follow the sacred paths of light now have a new menace to face... a new reason to run and hide, far, far away.

Mangar, the Keeper of the Shadows has returned.
