"Spirits
of the Frost"
Hakeshar
Iceshard
Tarrew Marr
Story
by
Tigeress Fierceheart
he
frozen wind swooped down upon him with the fierceness of
a hawk, chilling him to the bones. Looking down at his spirit
companion, he felt a moment of envy, knowing his friend
could not be truly harmed in any way. The snow cleared,
allowing Hakeshar his first view of his homeland in many,
many years.
The
fierce shaman had journeyed many months, days blurring from
one to the next, driven by his unconscious need to return
home with only the safety of his spirit companion, his personal
gift of the Tribunal, to ward off the beasts and hunters,
cold and hunger as he traveled for it was the call of
the Tribunal itself that drove him.
"Whatya
for, there, stra'ga?" shouted the posted sentry.
"I
am Hakeshar Iceshard, returning to my homeland." The
blonde-haired barbarian replied as he stepped up to the
sentry, gripping his spear tightly. "I bid thee step
aside or hasten my course but tally me no further or risk
my wraith."
"Ar'
ya kno? Well, whatdaya waitin' fer?" the sentry grumbled,
pointing out the shortest route recently cleared through
the mountain passes.
The
roar of the well-tended firepots told Hakeshar they were
finally home. The guards of the mountain pass leading to
the village tensed until his face cleared the shadow of
the peak. Clapping him on the back, they welcomed him with
talk of wars and the strange change in the migration of
the antelope.
He nodded and motioned them back. With fist clenched tight,
he shouted...
"It
is I, Hakeshar Iceshard, as you have summoned."
Lightening
flashed out of the clear sky, enveloping the shaman and
his companion in streaking jets of electricity and then
he was gone...

Iceshard walks the endless peaks of Everfrost on the Tarrew
Marr server.
